Preparation
We can’t stress the importance of physical preparedness or familiarity with your equipment enough. Whether you are Private Land Elk Hunting, Wilderness Hunting, or Antelope on our hunting ranches, it is essential to have what you need when you need it.
Archery Season Checklist
- A bow with a minimum draw weight of 60 lbs
- At least 6-12 arrows
- Field points
- A minimum of 6 three or four bladed, fixed non-mechanical broadheads
- Hunters Education Card
- Hiking boots with rubber soles
- QUIET Camo clothes
- Rain Gear
- A large waterproof bag or 2 smaller bags to hold your Elk Hunting Gear (which will weigh 50 pounds or less)
- Water Filter Bottle
- Binoculars
- Day pack
- Range finder
- Head Lamp WITH red or green light capabilities
- Personal Items
- Clothing appropriate for temperatures from the teens to the high 70s
- Sleeping bag
Rifle Season Checklist
- A good elk rifle
- Light weight boots
- Binoculars
- Sleeping bag
- Range Finder
- One box of shells
- Orange vest & hat
- A large waterproof bag or two smaller bags that can hold gear weighing 50 pounds or less
- Day pack
- Head lamp WITH red or green light capabilities
- QUIET clothing suitable for temperatures from the teens to the upper 40s
- Any personal items you deem necessary
- Water Filter Bottle
- Hunters Education Card
